How It Works

A clear step by step approach, with the exact legal and notice requirements assessed for each vehicle.

28
DAYS

28 Day Notice Process

Where the applicable CarClamp process requires a 28 day notice, the notice date is recorded and evidence of service should be retained. After the period has expired, the case can be submitted for assessment.

DAY

1 Day Notice Process

Where a vehicle has already been abandoned for more than 28 days and the applicable process permits a shorter notice route, a 1 day notice may be used. CarClamp will assess the circumstances before removal.

Identify & document

Record the registration, location, condition, photographs and circumstances. Do not move the vehicle simply because it appears abandoned.

Check authority & keeper information

Establish who controls the land and use appropriate routes for vehicle information where available and lawful.

Serve the applicable notice

Where the 28 day CarClamp workflow applies, serve the notice properly and retain a copy plus evidence of service.

Submit the removal request

Provide the completed case record, evidence and authority. CarClamp assesses the circumstances before confirming the next step.

Recovery & onward handling

Once the required authority and process are established, recovery is arranged and the vehicle is assessed for an appropriate lawful route.
